THE PROBLEM

The Solution

Mother and child healthcare is at the lowest level of focus in Pakistan, as compared to the rest of the world. Neonatal healthcare has only recently been identified as a public health priority in Pakistan. Out of the 5 million children born this year in Pakistan, Only half will survive beyond the first month. Statistics are grim for maternal-mortality as well and it is estimated that there will be approximately 276 deaths per 100,000 live births.

The main underlying factors for this problem are as follows,
a) High level of illiteracy and poverty
b) Budgetary allocations for Healthcare in Pakistan are one of the lowest in the world.
